State Member for Hinchinbrook and Katter’s Australian Party Deputy Leader, Nick Dametto is thrilled to see the Ingham CBD hustling and bustling following a number of new businesses opening and several existing businesses relocating to the main streets.

The Hinchinbrook MP said unfortunately for some time there were many empty shopfronts in the Ingham CBD, however times have changed with the establishment of new businesses and improved consumer confidence.

“In the last six to twelve months, we’ve seen new businesses like Balgarra Designs, Wholebeing Initiative, Friends Of The Wild Collective, SpinFX Electrical and Touch of Hair Beauty Lounge opened up along Lannercost Street and Palm Terrace,” Mr Dametto said.

“It’s been wonderful to see Happy Days Training, Wild Local and Optimise Health and Wellness have relocated to Palm Terrace, Herbert Street and Cartwright Street to expand.

“From experience, I understand how challenging starting a new business can be and I’d like to congratulate our business owners on their latest achievements.

“It’s great to see some businesses are joining forces and collaborating, for example, Grazing with the Girls is constantly innovating and working with other businesses such as Painting in the Paddocks and now Touch of Hair Beauty Lounge.

“These business collaborations are so important for a small town as they improve the customer experience, but it also strengthens relationships within our business community.”

Touch of Hair Beauty Lounge owner, Lauryn Deambrogio, said her first week of trading has been nothing short of amazing.

“I have been fortunate enough to have a variety of different faces walk through my doors as I’m in quite a central location which is perfect for tourists to spot. I have also seen so many familiar faces which has been super heart-warming and rewarding,” said Miss Deambrogio.

“I have had a strong drive to start my own business for a while, but more particularly when I started working at Ozcare nursing home in Trebonne serving all the aged care residents looking after all their hair and beauty needs.”
