COVID STATEMENT FROM THE KAP

Sep 2, 2021

Please attribute the below to Katter’s Australian Party Leader, Robbie Katter MP:

Katter’s Australian Party (KAP) was founded upon the principle of freedom, and it does not support mandatory vaccinations.

We caution all levels of Government not to continue its encroachment on people’s rights and freedoms, even during these difficult times.

History also shows that the Australian people will not tolerate it.

KAP MPs are today asking Australians to seek advice from their General Practitioner so they can make an informed decision on whether the COVID-19 vaccine is right for them.

The extreme restrictions we have been living under for the last 18 months need an end date, and the KAP is suggesting this deadline should be Christmas, 2021.

This means people will need to decide whether they want to take the vaccine before this time.

We support those who choose not to take the vaccine, but those who choose not to be vaccinated must acknowledge the health risks that may be associated with this decision.

In the aim of a Christmas deadline, the State KAP MPs today voted in support of an amendment to the Public Health and Other Legislation (Further Extension of Expiring Provisions) Amendment Bill 2021, to limit the extension of the Queensland Chief Health Officer’s powers to December 10.

We are now calling on our fellow State and Federal Parliamentarians to join with us in working towards a Christmas deadline, in the hope that our great country can soon return to some degree of normality.
