Kennedy MP Bob Katter said his thoughts were with families, friends and colleagues of the missing miners at Dugald River and would provide any assistance possible in search efforts. 

“My office contacted the Federal Minister for Emergency Management, Murray Watt, to request that emergency services including the emergency army team be ready and deployed as required to assist with this mine collapse,” Mr Katter said. 

Mr Katter’s office has been advised by Mr Watt’s office who stated an emergency management team was already onsite and would continue to provide updates. 

“We’ll be staying in contact with the mine to provide any assistance as required,” Mr Katter said.
