President’s Message

Dec 22, 2018

As 2018 draws to a close I would like to reflect on the success that KAP has experienced this year. In particular, following the 2017 election, we saw KAP represented by three State MPs in Queensland Parliament, Robbie Katter, Shane Knuth and newly elected Nick Dametto who have worked tirelessly for their electorates and kept up the fight for Regional Queensland.

After 30 years of tirelessly fighting, Bob successfully secured a $180m commitment for the Hughenden Irrigation Project and $54m for Hell’s Gates stage 1 – Big Rocks Weir.

With a Federal election in early 2019, KAP is in full election mode and we are working hard to secure excellent candidates to represent us. We have, so far introduced four candidates – Daniel McCarthy, candidate for Leichhardt, Nanette Radeck, candidate for Herbert, Brendan Bunyan, candidate for Dawson and Anthony Wallis, candidate for Maranoa.  There will be more candidates announced in the new year.

I would also like to take this time to thank our volunteers, supporters, members and donors for your valued contribution in 2018.  Without you we wouldn’t be able to continue to keep up the fight and we hope to see you all again in 2019.

From myself, Bob and the whole KAP team, we wish you a safe and Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Shane Paulger
KAP President
