The recent car thefts in Mingela and Ravenswood have led to further concern surrounding the states youth crime crisis for Katter’s Australian Party leader and Traeger MP Robbie Katter.
Youth crime in Queensland has surged to catastrophic levels following the tragic and senseless crash in Maryborough over the weekend that left three people dead and another critically injured. The vehicle that caused the carnage was allegedly stolen and being driven by a 13-year-old boy who was known to police.
The Palaszczuk Government failed Queenslanders and all victims of youth crime today when they declined to allow amendments to be introduced into Parliament that would have created meaningful change and curbed the youth crime epidemic.
Katter’s Australian Party (KAP) Deputy Leader and Hinchinbrook MP, Nick Dametto said the ongoing security issue of unwanted intruders entering Northern Beaches State High School (NBSHS) property would soon be in the past, with funding for a security fence allocated in the 2022-23 State Budget.
