JUST one day after the $5.5m announcement for North Queensland water planning, Kennedy MP Bob Katter put that commitment to the test by inviting the Federal Environment and Water Minister to tour Big Rocks Weir at Charters Towers.
Mount Isa City and Cloncurry Shire councils could assume responsibility for the North-West local water assets for a small sum and leave struggling residents far better off financially, Traeger MP Robbie Katter has said.
KENNEDY MP Bob Katter has welcomed significant announcements listed in the Federal Budget for North Queensland including $225m for exploration grants in the resource-rich “North West Minerals Province” near Mount Isa, significant investments in protecting Australia against foot and mouth disease, grants for invasive weeds and feral pigs, and funding to improve telecommunications in the electorate’s many black spots.
