The week that was

Aug 24, 2018

See what our Members of Parliament, Senator Fraser Anning, Honourable Bob Katter, Robbie Katter, Shane Knuth and Nick Dametto got up to this week.

Senator Fraser Anning, Senator for Queensland

  • On the 14th August I held a meeting with victims of the banks, where parliament was invited to hear over 30 people tell their story about mistreatment, almost 6 times the number that the Banking Royal Commission will hear. That is why I’m committed to increasing the length of the Banking Royal Commission, so that everyone can have their voice heard; allowing us to keep the banks accountable.
  • That same evening I successfully moved a motion in the Senate calling for the expansion of the Royal Commission.
  • Last week also saw a lot of media attention given to a speech that was full of common sense; such as the unthinkable idea that Australians should decide who comes to Australia. Unfortunately our current political climate seems to be short of such common sense. You can watch the full speech here.
  • In other news and more likely due to the bias from the media, you are unlikely to have heard about my proposal to introduce English as the official language of Australia.
  • We have seen a growing trend from Australian politicians to bend over backwards for all types; however they fail to stand up for something that unites us all, the language we speak. Making English the Official language of Australia, would be a step in the right direction to promoting the use of our language on shop fronts. Here is the motion I moved in the Senate on Thursday 23rd August.

On top of that he has attended parliament sittings and a number of other meetings relevant to ongoing issues in Traeger.
